Ever-Bloom Tournament
The Strike King EverBloom Tournament Trail event on Lake Evergreen was a tale of two days. The fishing day was very hot and humid with temperatures in the 90's. At 2 pm a major storm blew in with heavy rain and lightning but the anglers from the SKEBTT proved tougher than the weather.
Rain soaked weigh ins are not fun but just about every team braved the elements to stay and watch. Thanks to Pat Welch, Dusty Whitacre and Mike Blake for making sure we got the fish weighed in and back into the water. Tough conditions for sure.
The team of Bryan Estes and Dusty Whitacre took the win with 5 bass weighing 13.64 pounds. They were followed closely by seasoned anglers Loren Peters and Jerry Martoglio with 12.28 pounds. In third was Scott Bree and AJ Bailey with 11.35, Dave Norris and Aaron Geheber with 10.18 pounds and Terry Brown and Mike Blake with 9.64 pounds. Bailey and Bree won the Duckett Rods for this event by placing third.
The Sam Leman Big Bass was caught by Estes and Whitacre with a 4.97 pounder.
Terry Brown and Mike Blake still hold a commanding lead in the Sam Leman Heavyweight of the Year with 63.97 pounds followed by Estes and Whitacre with 45.16 pounds.
